About Indonesia Shipyard

About Indonesia Shipyard

Indonesia Shipyard is not a shipyard — it is the national yard-selection and docking-supervision desk operated by PT Komodo Galangan Nusantara, a specialist maritime brand under Juara Holding Group. We maintain the National Yard Register, shortlist and vet yards for owners, normalise tenders into comparable USD structures, and stand at the dock as the owner’s eye while the work is done.

What this desk does (register, selection, supervision)

Three functions, one thread. The Register: we maintain a working map of Indonesian yard capacity — dock types, geometry, tonnage bands, cluster by cluster — published as the National Yard Register and verified continuously through project work. Selection: for a specific vessel and scope, we turn the register into a vetted shortlist — capability audits, certificate checks, reference verification, in-person yard inspection — and normalise competing tenders into one USD comparison an owner can defend to a board; the method is documented on selection & vetting. Supervision: during docking, repair, refit or newbuild, our people are on site daily — verifying steel quantities before they are invoiced, holding coating standards at the surface-preparation stage, preparing class surveys to pass first time, and reporting to the owner every evening with photographs.

The operating entity: PT Komodo Galangan Nusantara

The desk is operated by PT Komodo Galangan Nusantara, an Indonesian company working in vessel construction and repair coordination. The company’s position in the market is deliberately owner-side: we do not own docks, we do not sell yard capacity, and we do not take placement commissions from yards. That structure is what makes the register honest and the shortlists defensible — a recommendation carries no hidden revenue behind it.

Part of Juara Holding Group’s maritime ecosystem (since 2015)

Indonesia Shipyard is a specialist maritime brand under Juara Holding Group, a group active in Indonesian marine tourism and maritime services since 2015. The group’s ecosystem spans vessel construction, management, charter operations and maritime consultancy across the archipelago — which is precisely why this desk exists: years of putting the group’s own and clients’ vessels through Indonesian yards produced the register, the vetting protocol and the supervision discipline this site describes. When an engagement touches a sister capability — custom construction, vessel management, charter operations — we say so openly and route the introduction through the group’s integrated maritime services desk; the owner always decides.

How we work: independence from yards, USD quotation policy

Four working rules govern every engagement. Independence: no yard commissions, no capacity resale — fees come from the owner only. USD quotation: all desk fees and tender normalisations are presented in USD so cross-yard and cross-country comparisons are real; official Indonesian government and port fees may appear in IDR as charged. Documentation: every recommendation, measurement and hold-point decision is written down and photographed — the owner’s file is built to hand to class, insurers or a future buyer. Verification: we recommend nothing we have not checked against documents or walked in person. Enquiries and first estimates are free; fees apply when tendering, vetting or supervision is engaged.

Where the boundaries are

Clarity about what this desk is not: we are not a yard, so we never sell dock capacity; we are not a broker, so we do not trade vessels; and we are not a design office, though we coordinate design-to-yard handovers with the group’s naval architecture partners when a build requires it. Traditional phinisi construction, geographic yard guides for specific regions, and custom build programmes each have their own specialist homes inside the group’s ecosystem — when your enquiry belongs there, we say so at the first conversation and hand it over cleanly rather than stretching our own scope.

Who the desk serves

Four owner profiles account for most engagements. Commercial fleet operators — tugs, barges, coasters, tankers — using the desk for docking calendars, framework tenders and supervision at scale. Foreign owners with vessels trading or chartering in Indonesian waters, who need eyes and paperwork they can trust from another time zone. Charter and liveaboard operators balancing survey compliance against season calendars. And first-time buyers of Indonesian newbuilds, for whom the milestone-and-inspection discipline of an owner’s representative is the difference between the vessel they contracted and the vessel they receive.

Contact the desk

The fastest route is WhatsApp +62 811-3823-875; email sales@komodoluxury.com reaches the same team. Send vessel particulars, class status, scope and target window — the intake checklist is on the contact page — and a shortlist or estimate comes back typically within two working days.

Frequently asked questions

Is Indonesia Shipyard itself a shipyard?

No. We are an owner-side desk: a register of Indonesian yard capacity, a selection and vetting service, and a supervision team. Vessels are docked and repaired at the yards we shortlist — under our watch, on the owner’s behalf.

Which company operates this desk?

PT Komodo Galangan Nusantara, an Indonesian company in vessel construction and repair coordination, operating Indonesia Shipyard as a specialist maritime brand under Juara Holding Group (active since 2015).

How is the desk independent from the yards it recommends?

Structurally: we take no commission from yards, resell no dock capacity, and are paid only by the owner. A shortlist ranking carries no revenue consequence for us, which is the only arrangement under which vetting means anything.

How are services quoted?

In USD, per engagement: shortlisting and tender normalisation as fixed scopes, supervision per day or per project stage. Official government fees, where they pass through, may appear in IDR as charged. Enquiries and first estimates are free.

Where does the register data come from?

From three streams kept in tension with each other: yard disclosures and published tariffs, port and project records, and — decisively — the desk’s own engagements, where dock certificates, load tests and real turnaround times are seen first-hand. Register entries are treated as screening bands until re-verified for a live engagement, which is why every shortlist we issue re-confirms capacity with the yard rather than trusting last year’s notes.
